American author Nickolas Butler's debut novel Shotgun Lovesongs is set for release in March 2014 and has already gained a wide range of rave reviews.

Butler was born in Pennsylvania and grew up in rural Wisconsin, where he now lives with his family, and has worked variously as an innkeeper, a hot dog vendor, a coffee roaster and at Burger King while honing his craft at the world renowned Iowa Writer's Workshop. Shotgun Lovesongs, sold to St. Martin's Press for a high six-figure sum, is about four friends who return to their Wisconsin hometown after years apart, and explores the age-old question of whether anyone can ever really return home again.
